Monfre Basketball

I had the opportunity to design a new identity for Andy Monfre of Monfre Basketball, who specializes in helping serious young basketball players finesse and master skills and concepts of todays game in basketball. Some young kids he had the chance to teach include Tyler Herro and Tyrese Haliburton. No big deal.

I went to basketball camp as a kid and I remember not only how fun it was to be competitive with friends, new and old. I also remember how rewarding it was to work your butt off and feel a sense of pride at the end of the camp each day, sweaty and exhausted. That personal experience inspired this brand identity, as well as the goals and aspirations of the brand itself. It’s always special when you can inject your own experiences into your work.

Anyway, the idea of this mark was to encapsulate the ball with the M to show that this is the place to get control of your skills and concepts of the game. Having the M anchoring the ball invokes that confidence.
